The Medical Lake Recycling Center is run in cooperation with the Pine Lodge Pre-Release Center to provide residents of the City of Medical Lake with the opportunity to divert recyclable materials from the waste stream.

Please follow the directions and sort your recyclables appropriately. The recycling center depends on your for its success. Contaminated or poorly prepared recyclables increase labor costs and create unsanitary conditions for workers. Please help keep your recycling center running efficiently!

Items may be dropped off 24 hours a day. We do ask that if an area is full please return the following business day to allow workers to process all items effectively and to maintain cleanliness.

MATERIALS ACCEPTED
Newspapers:
Black & white newspaper, shredded newsprint, including other paper normally distributed inside a newspaper such as colored advertisements, comics, fliers & tabloids.

Corrugated Paper: Brown, uncoated, uncontaminated "cardboard" boxes with a waxy core and (no plastic liners or wax coating) and brown paper bags.

High Grade Paper: Continuous form computer paper, white or colored. White bond, Xerox, or notebook paper. Colored 8 1/2" X 11" sheets (fliers).

Magazines: Clean, dry subscription type magazines are accepted. No junk mail or catalogs, even though they look like magazines.

Mixed Recyclable Paper:  All other potentially recyclable paper, such as envelopes (non-windowed), telephone books, paper back books, cereal boxes, laundry soap boxes.

PET Containers (#1): Polyethylene terehpithalate-clear and colored beverage containers made from PET; Coded (1).

HDPE (#2): High-density polyethylene milk, water, juice and detergent containers; may be opaque or colored; coded (2).

Glass Containers: Food, clean beverage, and other glass containers. Do not break. We do not accept glass from other sources, such as window glass.

Tin Cans: Tin-plates steel cans, usually food containers. Please remove labels and rise well.

Aluminum Cans: Aluminum Beverage cans.

Yard Waste:  Grass clipping, leaves, pine needles branches and limbs (not over 3" in diameter or 6" in length).  The yard waste trailer is seasonal and usually runs mid April through mid November.

Batteries: Ni-cad, flashlight, button batteries, automobile, truck, boat and motorcycle batteries.

Used Oil: Uncontaminated automotive oil.

Antifreeze:  Uncontaminated automotive antifreeze.

Type 3,4,5,6 & 7 Plastic
